When you see the Live Cam Icon on a "Listen In" event on our main web page:
It means KFJC will be netcasting streaming video with audio for that event.
Here's what you need to do for viewing a Live Cam feed:
This is KFJC's first go at streaming live video and audio from our live music events.
We've selected a shareware application that is available
for free that works on numerous platforms.
In time, we'll likely enhance the service and move over to more
commonly available streaming services that don't require the download
of a special video stream client.
For now, you need to
download the
VLC media player
from VideoLan.
Download the VLC player and follow the directions for installation.
After you install VLC, you need to do the following:
- From the FILE menu, select Open Network.
This will bring up the Open Source window
- Make sure the button for HTTP is selected.
- Enter/Make sure the URL is http://livecam.kfjc.org:8020
Note: The URL needs to be exact:
h t t p <colon> <slash> <slash> l i v e c a m <period> k f j c <period> o r g <colon> 8 0 2 0
After pressing OK you should be able to see and hear the stream from The Pit.
NOTE: streaming video services will be available just before the scheduled time of the event.
